BPP deliver a good range of seminars aimed at the conveyancer, generally in London, Birmingham and Manchester. Here are two which we think practitioners will find useful.
Review of the Housing Act 2004
This course will be of benefit to new and experienced practitioners in the field of Housing and Property Law.
Overview
The Housing Act 2004 affects a wide variety of areas of housing law, from information to be provided on a property purchase to new anti-social behaviour sanctions. This course will provide delegates with an introduction to each of the areas covered by the Housing Act and will include practical applications of the new provisions. It will also include a session on the new powers of the Leasehold Property Tribunal.
Topics covered on this course will include * Anti-social behaviour amendments * System (HHSRS) * Enforcement powers * Home Information Packs * Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation Easements and Covenants - Avoiding the Pitfalls
Overview
Easements and covenants present a variety of legal issues for conveyancers and the relevant law is complex. If key points are missed during the drafting and negotiation stages, the result can be an unhappy client and a negligence claim. This course will focus on identifying solutions to common problems and on getting the relevant clauses right the first time. Drafting suggestions and practical tips will be given throughout the day. Topics covered on this course will include:- * Easements prescription? * Covenants * Key legal requirements and essential elements of a scheme of development * Means of enforcing positive covenants and how to apply for the discharge/modification of a covenant * How to ensure the benefit and burden of restrictive covenants run with the land.
